AGENTIC AI VALUE CREATION
Agentic AI is already creating value in the region. Below are some examples:
Financial services DNB has built autonomous risk assessment agents including Know Your Customer( KYC) processes.
Energy and industrial Equinor reported AI contributed US $ 130m in savings in 2025, including seismic analysis performed 10 × faster. Agentic systems autonomously optimise grid operations, forecast energy demand and manage maintenance scheduling across distributed assets.
Healthcare Sweden’ s WASP program launched WARA Medicine( AstraZeneca, Cytiva, Testa Center) developing AI agents and Large Multimodal Models for pharmaceutical decision-making.
E-government Estonia’ s Bürokratt( KrattAI) is UNESCO’ s top-100 AI project: an AI virtual assistant network using LLMs for public services. It is worth noting that all three Baltic nations rank in the global top 10 for consumer AI adoption( Latvia 4th, Lithuania 7th, Estonia 8th).
1.5 Market choice: Businesses value choice and flexibility
Businesses consistently prioritise access to global technology providers as they scale beyond domestic markets. Sovereignty, for most firms, means the ability to access best-inclass technology and switch providers freely – not ownership of every layer of the value chain. More than nine in 10 firms say their ability to innovate and scale depends on access to global technology providers – and 80 % insist on the freedom to switch between them.
Debates on sovereignty and strategic autonomy are intensifying, but the critical question is how sovereignty can strengthen competitiveness rather than constrain it.
In practice, 85 % of businesses already use a mix of providers from different regions, while 82 % say they have adequate choice to switch between AI technology providers. For those using providers based outside their home country, the leading reasons are a wider range of features( 53 %), more competitive pricing( 51 %) and better scalability or integration( 49 %). aws. amazon. com 11
