While outsourcing may be necessary to close resource gaps, it can also form part of an organization’ s core business strategy. It can provide access to specialized skill sets and resources needed to diversify or compete. It can deliver the flexibility to scale up or down and help manage costs.
Traditional outsourcing arrangements are now being replaced with collaborative partnerships and there’ s the opportunity to enter into outcome-based contracts which deliver measurable performance and reduce risk.
When it comes to asset management, mining organizations can either look to fill specific expertise or capability gaps or— at the other end of the spectrum— they can outsource strategy management and monitoring allowing them to focus on highquality and efficient work execution. Now that so much of the work is data-driven, technology and automation can drive strategy changes which brings new levels of efficiency to partner contracts.
