Responsible AI as competitive advantage However, Kristin’ s take is that building confidence only matters if it is matched by equal discipline around how AI is governed and deployed responsibly.
Trust, she argues, is the currency of banking, and that principle extends directly to how AI is deployed. Capital markets, in particular, depend on clarity and confidence across financial institutions, making governance a strategic priority.“ Trust is fundamental to banking, and the same is true of AI,” adds Kristin.“ Responsible AI is going to ensure that our solutions are governed, that they’ re transparent and secure, and when our teammates and clients trust how AI is being used, adoption happens faster.”
For Kristin, governance is not a constraint on innovation but the mechanism that allows it to scale sustainably:“ Responsible AI is what enables innovation to scale safely and sustainably, and it becomes a competitive advantage because it helps organisations differentiate while delivering that value responsibly.
“ Innovation without empathy is just efficiency without trust. I really believe that’ s an important part to all of this, because trust is fundamental to finance.”
Banking’ s big opportunities Examining the sector as a whole, Kristin sees the next phase of AI adoption centring on scaling business value across the enterprise and embedding it into core infrastructure – rather than treating it as a series of standalone projects.
