Sharmita Srivastava has spent more than two decades embedded deeply in enterprise technology and business transformation, and for the past three years she has applied that experience to one of the most complex remits in life sciences. As Vice President and Global Head of IT Finance, Procurement and ERP Platforms at Bristol Myers Squibb( BMS), she owns the technology backbone that runs finance, procurement, product development and supply operations across 48 markets and 12 manufacturing plants worldwide.

At that size, functions such as finance and procurement stop being back-office plumbing and become part of what keeps medicines moving to patients on time, something Sharmita describes as the most fulfilling part of the job.“ Very few roles out there actually allow you to work truly at an enterprise scale and still trace every decision back to a patient outcome,” she explains.
Before joining BMS in 2023, Sharmita held multiple leadership roles at Accenture, where she led global teams on large, complex transformation programmes. Her career began, fittingly, with an ERP platform.
