TRUSS DATA CENTERS
TRUSS was built in that gap. After founding and building Edge Centres, an edge data centre platform, Jon moved to the US to lead the commercial buildout of TRUSS Data Centers. Rather than waiting for new grid connections, TRUSS finds buildings where utility power already exists and re-engineers them for AI.
“ The industry is obsessed with gigawatts that don’ t exist yet,” Jon says.“ We’ re obsessed with megawatts that already do.
“ There are buildings all over America with serious utility capacity behind the meter, built for a previous era of telecoms or enterprise IT, and largely forgotten.
“ Our job is to find them, buy them or secure them, and re-engineer them for AI. When the power is already connected, your schedule is measured in months. When it isn’ t, it’ s measured in years – and nobody building AI has years.”
The stranded power playbook TRUSS targets metros outside traditional Tier 1 markets, where utility capacity can still be available and existing building stock offers a faster route to deployment.
The company acquires or controls facilities with utility interconnects, medium-voltage gear, transformers and generators already in place. It then rebuilds the interior around the requirements of modern AI. The change in rack density makes that engineering critical. Conventional data halls were designed around much lower loads, while GPU systems can now reach 130kW per rack and require directto-chip liquid cooling. trussdc. com 7
