L+R Hotels’ journey to net zero The company’s roadmap to net zero emissions is built on two pillars: energy efficiency and renewable energy adoption.

“We’ve already reduced over 500 tonnes of CO₂ emissions through these measures,” Angelo reveals. “Impactful change often starts with the basics.” At the same time, L+R Hotels is trialling and scaling new technologies to future-proof its assets.

L+R Hotels is actively exploring AI-driven energy management systems and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions to optimise consumption and reduce waste.

“We are currently piloting two advanced technologies – one for electricity and one for gas – that aim to optimise energy usage at the room level,” Angelo explains. These systems use real-time occupancy
