Dr . Kane Tomlin is a former US Army Master Diver , and the former Special Programs Director for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement . Kane was recently promoted from the Security Officer role to the Chief Technology Officer role at the Mississippi Department of Health in 2024 where he is embarking on a technological modernization program focused on citizen and patient-centric solutions .
Professor Tomlin also teaches Cybersecurity , National Security , and Emergency Management at various institutions such as NYU , NC State , and Excelsior University . He is also an NSA instructor and keynote speaker .
Kane deployed twice to Iraq and has worked extensively around the globe while a member of the Army ’ s Engineer Dive Teams . msdh . ms . gov 7
