Prof. Jodhbir Mehta is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer( Research), Distinguished Professor in Clinical Innovation in Ophthalmology at the Singapore National Eye Centre( SNEC), and Academic Vice-Chair( Research) at SingHealth Duke-NUS. He is also Executive Director, head of the Centre for Vision Research( CVR) and co-head of the Regenerative Therapy and Cataract & Refractive Research Group at SERI, Senior Consultant, and former Head of the Cornea and External Eye Disease Department at SNEC. He has published over 580 peerreviewed papers and 24 book chapters, with an H-index of 84 and over 26,000 citations. He has delivered > 350 invited lectures and received 79 prestigious awards( 20 Named Lectures). He has been recognized as one of the most influential people in the world of ophthalmology both by featuring in the Ophthalmologist’ s Power List, Asia- Pacific Power List and also the top 2 % of scientist in Ophthalmology by Elsevier. He holds 24 patents( 6 commercialized and licensed to companies) and has trained 30 international fellows, 5 masters, and 8 PhD students. His research focuses on corneal transplantation, laser technology, imaging, infections, refractive surgery, keratoprosthesis, and genetics. Prof Mehta is also an active member of APAO and other Asia-Pacific professional societies. He currently is the Vice- President of International Relations of the American Cornea Society.
