While chemical distribution may not be front-of-mind for the average person, its touchpoints are embedded in practically every consumer product on Earth. At the centre of this global ecosystem is Univar Solutions, which supplies specialty chemicals and ingredients – ranging from basic acids and alkalis to de-icers, food additives and pharmaceutical ingredients – across approximately 80,000 customer locations in more than 125 countries.

Dr. Liam McCarroll serves as Senior Director of Global Sustainability and Social Impact at Univar Solutions, where he helps lead the company’ s global sustainability strategy and supports the integration of sustainability across governance, operations, supply chain, commercial activity and culture.
In this role, Dr. McCarroll works with teams across the business to advance Univar Solutions’ 2030 sustainability goals, including climate action, resource efficiency, sustainable supply chain leadership and social impact. His work focuses on turning sustainability ambition into practical, measurable progress that creates long-term value for customers, suppliers, employees, communities and the business.
