THE DELOITTE CONNECTION
No university can navigate a digital journey alone. Partnerships are essential for staying at the cutting edge of technological trends and implementing best practices.
“ We’ ve engaged with Deloitte on multiple different fronts, primarily in the enterprise applications area,” Bharath explains.
Recently, UC worked with the professional services firm to implement its new budget management tool software, Anaplan. It involved members of UC’ s IT and finance teams working together with Deloitte representatives to implement this tool that will allow for long range budget planning and in support of a new budget model.
“ Deloitte helped us to get Anaplan up and running,” Bharath reflects.“ Now, we’ re moving on to phase two, which is rolling it out to everybody, including the College of Medicine that has some unique requirements.” The consulting giant will also help Bharath’ s team to move the university’ s HR systems to the cloud.
He continues:“ We’ re trying to move our HR systems, which are SAP-based systems, to their cloud version from an on-premise model. Deloitte is a major partner in that endeavor.”
Finally, Deloitte will help UC to plan its ERP modernisation journey.
Bharath adds:“ We have two ERP systems – SAP for HR and finance, and then Oracle PeopleSoft for our student information system. Ideally, these systems would be on one platform so we’ re looking into using Workday or Oracle for a single modernised ERP platform.
“ They bring a wealth of knowledge in areas like cloud transformation, enterprise systems and student experience design, which helps us move faster and more effectively than we could on our own.”
The partnership goes beyond traditional consulting; it is a collaborative relationship where both organisations work together to solve complex problems, ensuring UC remains a leader in the digital higher education space.
