GENPACT
– an offering that has evolved now into agentic operations, powering clients’ finance, HR, supply chain, banking and insurance functions with AI agents.
Just as important, however, is the company’ s purpose, which is laser-focused on people and culture.
Genpact’ s‘ technology solutions’, meanwhile, see it help companies to implement AI, analytics and digital tools on their behalf.
What helps Genpact stand apart from the crowd, Diwakar suggests, is not its access to technology but how the company applies it.“ Technology is not a differentiator,” he says.“ Application of technology is the differentiation.”
This matters more than ever in an age where clients want technology to revolutionise their operations, not just reduce their costs, especially in the manufacturing sector.
Where agentic AI is changing manufacturing One form of technology that is primed to change paradigms in the manufacturing industry is agentic AI, which sees computers carry out tasks independently of human instruction.
For Diwakar, agentic technologies are already reshaping three key areas of manufacturing:
1. The“ digital thread” of internal business processes. 2. The factory floor. 3. The physical assets companies sell into the field.
“ Agentic AI is impacting all three areas,” he says,“ but I think it’ s affecting the digital thread more, in the sense that agents can now do work humans used to do in finance, supply chain and commercial operations.”
On the factory floor, he says the technology is being used to raise plant utilisation and enable predictive maintenance, which flags equipment faults before they cause downtime.
In the field, AI can also be combined with physics-based models to improve how physical assets perform, from vehicles to industrial machinery. Genpact’ s own work, he notes, is concentrated more heavily on the first two areas.
