VERTICE
Vertice and the case for context-led procurement Vertice is looking to move procureto-pay beyond process efficiency, connecting commercial agreements with invoice processing while rethinking how P2P performance is measured.
For Johan Mills, VP Product Strategy at Vertice, procure-to-pay( P2P) remains an area of procurement technology with considerable scope for improvement. Although the category is well established, he believes investment has not kept pace across the entire process.
“ There’ s ample opportunity to shake that up if done in the right way, and that’ s what we’ re looking to do at Vertice,” says Johan.“ The reality is it hasn’ t really had the level of investment in AI that it really deserves.”.
Johan joined Vertice after building procurement from scratch at ThoughtWorks, where he also tried to develop in-house solutions. Having experienced the limitations of some existing procurement technology, he was drawn to Vertice after seeing its impact as a customer.
“ I was really impressed by the return on investment that we had as a business. And I was really impressed with the vision and the strategy that Ryan Eldar had for Vertice.”
His focus now is on addressing some of the friction that remains in P2P, from the experience of occasional users and suppliers to the way organisations connect commercial agreements with the invoices they ultimately pay.
