Part of PSCI’ s strategy to drive decarbonisation in the supply chain is its sponsorship of the Energize programme delivered by Schneider Electric.
A first-of-its-kind programme, Energize matches companies with their needs for power purchase agreements.
“ It’ s been hugely successful,” says Lucy,“ More than 1,000 supplier companies have now participated in the Energize programme. And two cohorts have already reached annual savings of more than 230,000 tonnes of CO 2
.”
She adds:“ But we know renewable energy is only one part of the answer. We also focus on clean heat, green air solvents, material substitutions, energy efficiency and technology upgrades, which also matter.”
Where PSCI’ s opportunity lies is in its platform to access industry expertise and turn these into real-world solutions for the benefit of everybody.
“ Together we are educating all these suppliers around the world about the opportunity that they have to access renewable energy by buying together because they can’ t access it alone. They’ re too small. But when they group up together, they can get renewable energy,” says Lucy.
